I was at a clothing store today to buy some T-shirts. A family of 4 arrived at the store and something was unusual about them. The son was making some gestures to his father to communicate. Having been into this for a while now, I understood what was the case. I tapped his (father's) back to ask him in the standard way one should ask whether the person is deaf and/or mute (with one hand, touch your ears, touch your mouth and nod your head in an interrogatory manner). He nodded and returned the gesture with an adorable smile. I handed him over the card and he had a brief look at it. He seemed to understand what was it about very quickly. He asked me whether I was deaf and/or mute. I answered and he again gave me a beautiful smile with a thumbs up.
This conversation today made me happy about what we are doing, how can we change lives, and promote inclusivity within society with our brainchild LearnSign.
